An adult Sumatran tiger captured by Steve Winter

A Sumatran tiger has been severely injured in a wire trap in Aceh, the northern most region of the island. Authorities found the tiger after receiving reports from locals in the area. The Aceh Natural Resources Conservation Agency with the help of the police department were able to rescue the tiger. They transported the tiger to a holding facility and plan on releasing the three year old female after she has fully recovered. The recovery process is only expected to last a few days.
