It is a devastating reality that tigers and other big cats can now be found in roadside zoos, private homes, and farms across the world. However, this does mean that wherever you are, there are likely also organizations working to combat this abuse. Many accredited big cat sanctuaries and organizations fighting poaching, trade, and abuse are looking for volunteers. Whether you choose to work on the ground, virtually, or both, there is always a way to help. Follow some of the links below to find some of these organizations in the United States, or reach out to us via the “Contact” tab for help finding an organization that works for you.

Ultimately, for the global big cat conservation crisis to come to an end governments have to take the initiative to create legislation that protects wild habitats, outlaws private ownership, and more. If you live in the United States, the Big Cat Public Safety Act is the currently proposed bill that would end the cruel abuse of exotic cats in America. The bill has bipartisan support, but has faced pushback from wealthy exotic animal traders lobbying to remain unregulated. Learn more about the bill below and reach out to your congressmen asking for their support of this vital bill. If you are interested in joining the fight from outside the United States, look into what policies your home country might have (or need) that impact both wild and captive big cats.
